The Bachelor of Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology (BAOTT) is a specialized undergraduate program designed to train students in managing operation theatre equipment, assisting anaesthesiologists, and ensuring smooth surgical procedures. The course blends theoretical knowledge with extensive practical exposure in clinical settings.

Admission Process

Eligibility Check : Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Entrance Examination : Applicants must appear for an entrance test based on the 10+2 syllabus, covering Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English, and General Awareness.

Personal Interview : Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview to assess their aptitude, communication skills, and interest in the healthcare field.

Merit-Based Counseling : Final selection is based on performance in the entrance exam and interview, followed by seat allocation through counseling.

Medical Fitness & Documentation : Selected candidates must submit required documents and a medical fitness certificate.

Eligibility for Admission

Minimum Qualification:

The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination recognized by any Indian University or a duly constituted Board with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB). Mathematics is optional. Candidates who have studied abroad and passed an equivalent qualification, as determined by the Association of Indian Universities, are also eligible. They must have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (mandatory) and Mathematics (optional) up to the 12th standard level. The qualifying examination passed by Foreign Nationals (FN), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), and Children of Indian Workers in Gulf Countries (CIWGC) should be considered equivalent to the eligibility examination as per the Association of Indian Universities/Academic Council.

The candidate must submit:

Selection Procedure

Admission to the Bachelor in Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology course shall be based on eligibility and an entrance test. No candidate will be admitted without appearing for the admission test and interview.
1.Entrance Test: Conducted by the university as per the CBSE 10+2 syllabus. Distribution of questions: Physics – 25%
Biology – 25%
Chemistry – 25%
English (Language & Comprehension) – 15%
General Awareness (health-related topics) – 10%
2.Interview: Candidates who qualify in the written test will be called for an interview. The interview board includes: Head of Department of Surgery and/or Anaesthesia (Chairman) Other nominated members The board’s decision will be final.
3.Counseling: Seats will be allotted based on merit and availability during counseling.
4.Medical Examination: Candidates who fail to attend the medical examination on notified dates will lose their admission claim unless permitted under special circumstances.

Attendance Rule:

Students absent for more than 15 consecutive days after joining will have their names removed from the college rolls without notice.

Provision of Lateral Entry

Lateral entry to the second year is allowed for candidates who have completed a diploma from a recognized Government Board or University in the same subject. Lateral entry admissions must not exceed 20% of the total intake.

Eligibility for Lateral Entry: • Minimum 2-year full-time diploma in Anaesthesia & Operation Theatre Technology from a recognized Government body • Must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology • Eligibility may also be subject to examination conducted by NCAHP. • Foreign nationals or candidates with foreign qualifications must obtain permission from the NCAHP Commission for equivalence before admission.
